Big Week: SXSW & 9rules!

So this has most certainly been a great week for me. Aside from the usual of working at the new job and still getting adjusted to things, two more events happened that I am extremely excited about.

So, going in order, the first thing was that I finally registered for SXSW. Now, I’ve never been to a design conference. I’ve read many recaps of things that have gone on in them, and felt like that little puppy staring out of the window wanting to go play. Well, it’s time to go play now! SXSW has been the conference that I’ve heard the most about, as far as the fun factor, and usefulness of the different panels.

Now I’m expecting a friend/business partner to come along with me, so I hope he can make it. If not, I have no problem going solo….how bad could it be in an environment full of other designers/developers? So I’m pretty geeked about this opportunity, and I will most certainly blog about the whole while I’m there.

Have you ever wanted to be apart of something great? Who doesn’t, right? Well yesterday right after lunch, I check my Mint stats. Everything seemed normal, the average daily hits look about right. So a few hours later, I notice a big shift in the amount of traffic. Doesn’t seem right. Something is wrong.

So I check the referrals list and noticed the 9rules blog is sending a bit of traffic my way. My first thought was “Damn, what is going on, and what did I do now?!” So I pay a visit, and sure enough, my site reads under the days’ New Additions to 9rules!!

Now, I feel like I’m apart of something great, which is what I was getting at. I have been following 9rules for about the past year, and I really like what they do and what they are about. If you are asking yourself what the hell 9rules is, then explore yourself. But the short version which damn near says enough…“9rules is a community of the best weblogs in the world on a variety of topics.”

So, I am very honored to be apart of this. So my thanks goes out to the 9rules crew for putting me amongst other great blogs. I’m excited to put that logo up on my site…….it’s one of the best out there!

I’m expecting 2007 to be a huge year for me. Lots of things I’m working on under the radar that I will talk more about down the road. So don’t go anywhere!
