Getting Your Point Across

As of the past few months, I have been seeing lots of these Chase billboards, that I think are great examples of communicating a message. As for this particular billboard, the message is very clear: Get money faster…

Chase

This reminds of me text/instant messaging as well. But, great ads from Chase.

  • From a purely design POV i think they could have gone with just the txt message and a small chase logo > the secondary ‘now our ATMs are twice as fast’ seems rather like ‘this is where we explain the punchline as if you’re an idiot’ lol I suppose if they did that a few people might not get it, but so what > I don’t believe any advertiser ever came up with a universal message to all demographics - you make a splash where you can and hope for it to ripple out. Or something.

On another note, I do feel concerned that advertisers are helping to ‘disemvowell’ the english language I so love. Give it a few more decades and we’ll all be right back to talking like our neanderthal ancestors!

  • Haha, yes I do agree that they didn’t have to add the bit about ATMs. It would seem apparent (at least to me) that they are talking about ATM, since there really is no other way to get money fast.

The ad just humors me because when I text message, the language doesn’t look much different than that at all.

  • Good day

It’s a quick video I compiled to show off the dervishs dance from the guildwars night-fall weekend event.
The dance the dervish does is the same one that Christoper Walken did in the video for Fatboy Slims’ - Weapon of choice music video (hence the music used)
